Privacy policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This policy explains how grit, operated by Vishal Kaithoju, handles information when you use the site or contact us.
Your images, videos and text
The studio processes uploaded media and editable text in your browser. Grit does not send your source files or text to an editing server as part of that processing. Choosing a remote source or loading a sample makes a network request to the source's host.
Projects you download can include your media. Settings links carry design settings and can include text, remote URLs or a selected library source; they do not embed your personal uploaded files. Review a link or exported project before sharing it.
Browser storage
Grit uses local browser storage to remember settings, saved looks and projects. This information stays in that browser profile until removed or cleared. You can remove local data through your browser's site-data settings. Keep separate backups of important work.
Hosting and fonts
Vercel hosts the site and receives the information needed to deliver and secure network requests, such as an IP address, requested URL and browser headers. Some typefaces load through Google Fonts, which receives the information needed to serve those fonts. Their handling of that information is covered by Vercel's privacy notice and Google's privacy policy.
Usage analytics
Grit uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand page visits and basic product usage. Information can include the page path, referrer, approximate region, device and browser type. Studio events record categorical information about opening the editor, creating a design and downloading work; uploaded files and editable text are not included in those events.
Vercel describes Web Analytics as aggregated, cookie-free analytics. Its analytics privacy documentation explains the data it collects and how it identifies visits. Your browser's privacy tools may block these requests.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond and address your request, and retain it only as needed for that purpose or applicable obligations. Email is handled through Gmail. Do not include passwords or sensitive material that is unnecessary for your request.
Your choices and requests
You can clear browser-stored data, avoid sharing projects and settings links, and use browser privacy controls. To ask about information held in correspondence, request access, correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, email vishalkaithoju@gmail.com. Requests will be considered in line with applicable law.
Updates
If this policy changes, the updated version and date will appear on this page.
